5.56 NATO: Minimum barrel length of 10.3 inches.
308 Winchester: Minimum barrel length of 16 inches.
300 Blackout: Often rated for barrels as short as 7 inches due to its subsonic nature.

Under federal law, it has never been illegal to own a suppressor. If you are legally able to own a handgun, and you live in a state that allows Suppressor ownership, then you most likely can own a suppressor.
The basic requirements are as follows:
You must be at least 21 years old
You must live in a state that allows ownership
You must not have any felony convictions

No! There are some rumors that you need to have a “Class 3” license to own a suppressor, and these are false.
However, you do have to pay for a “tax stamp” when you first buy the suppressor; but there are no ongoing fees or licenses required. This tax is like paying sales tax on a purchase, but instead of going to the state government, it goes to the federal government.

Suppressor ownership is legal in plenty of states such as: AL, AR, AK, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NV, NH, NM, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT*, WA, WI, WV and WY.
CA may also allow suppressor ownership for people in possession of a valid FFL.
